Overview
The SUNBIRD-SP Test Post Monitor is a compact Cathodic Protection Remote Monitoring Unit (RMU) designed to fit on a CP riser post that is solar-powered and incorporates the latest communication technology.
No battery replacement required – ever! And with the ability to utilize advanced cellular backhauls the device is guaranteed to perform in the field for years with the added benefit of wide geographical coverage.
Installation is simplified with no laptops or cellphones required. Data is automatically transmitted every hour with fast logging rates and built-in GPS to confirm data is originating from the intended location.
The SUNBIRD-SP can be deployed anywhere along a pipeline network to record ON/OFF pipe-to-soil potentials, native coupon potentials and measurements of interfering AC currents. Remote Monitoring also ensures maximum safety and cost-efficiency for CP operators managing challenging locations such as busy roadways, rail crossings, or difficult-to-access locations on private land or remote locations.
All captured CP data is managed within the iCPSM4 cloud-based management system with the ability to send interruption commands in perfect synchronization with other RMUs, quickly realizing your ROI when compared to scheduled manual reading capture.
