Package Tracking
Mobiltex has developed a number of customized solutions
to assist package and mail delivery companies with their package
tracking requirements. The primary focus of the product line is to
provide wireless transmission of tracking data between the mobile
data terminals (MDT) carried by fleet operators and the central
database. Past solutions have involved devices mounted either in the
vehicle or incorporated into the MDT holster and/or software
communications packages. 
The customized product typically incorporates a powerful
microprocessor system with software designed to the customer's
requirements, which include the following functions:
- data communications with the scanner;
- data processing;
- data archival;
- data report supervision;
- data report scheduling;
- wireless network access;
- wireless network control;
- wireless network supervision;
- GPS location reporting;
- local diagnostic/configuration functions.
Mobiltex has also developed accessories, such as battery chargers, to support their package tracking communication products.
